JOB VACANCY – FULL TIME FITTERS MATE REQUIRED

Successful family Garage Door company seeks a garage door installation assistant, working daily as an assistant to a lead fitter, you will work as part of a close team installing and repairing all types of garage doors and automation systems.

Training will be given in the installation and repair of Sectional, Roller, Canopy, Retractable & Side Hinged Garage Doors, plus Front Entrance Doors, as well as installation & repair of automatic operators for garage doors. Training will be also given on the proper safe use of power tools, site protocol and UPVC finishing.

Responsibilities and Duties

Trainee’s duties will involve but not be limited to:

• Working as a fitter’s mate, fitting garage doors and automation.
• Attending repair call outs, diagnosing repairs, liaising with the office to order parts if required, completing repairs and paperwork with the customer.
• Assisting with picking door and fitting items for the following day’s installations, loading van.
• Removal of old door and rubbish from site, disposing of rubbish and recycling old doors, ensuring the Workshop, loading area, stock and the door store are kept clean, tidy & safe.

Competence

Having practical experience with hand/battery tools will be an advantage, must have an aptitude for problem solving and will be able to follow written and verbal instructions.

An enthusiasm for home automation and electronics will be a benefit. Any experience in UPVC cladding & finishing will also be an advantage

Successful applicants will be asked to attend an interview, & ideally hold a full Clean UK Driving License, but not a necessity.
